War and Under a Blood Red Sky

In 1983, U2 released a new album War. The album included the song Sunday Bloody, which was a response team to strife in Northern Ireland. Rolling Stone Magazine wrote that the ability to use a large number of images in the song, originally talking about religious hatred, and making it appeal to all Christians to unite and proclaim victory over evil and death, suggest the possibility of the group to write thoughtful and expressive lyrics. Song New Year's Day was the first international hit group. It is part of a hit parade of Great Britain and the United States. Channel MTV constantly say the song clip that was the general American public familiarity with U2.

For the first time at the concerts of the group in Europe and the United States was not available. The image of Bono, waving a white flag during the performance of Sunday Bloody Sunday, has become commonplace. After touring in support of the album War U2 in November 1983 released the album Under a Blood Red Sky, which included some songs, recorded at concerts in Boston, Denver and St. Gorshauzene. At the same time it was released the same video with a concert group 5 June 1983 in the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Disadvantageous contract with Island Records group ended, and in 1984 they signed another. Rather than a large initial fee, they agreed to return rights to their own songs, to extend the contract to increase the royalty, as well as review some of the common points of contract.
